You can't describe the feeling of being in the rink last night to watch the Ice Dance competition. It was amazing. When Canada's first pair skated the crowd was buzzing with anticipation. When Scott and Tessa finally took to the ice the roar of the crowd could be felt.
Then silence as they skated a nearly flawless performance. It was like watching two people fall in love. Tessa had changed costumes from practice as she had a dream that she won the gold in the white one.....it was to come true.
When the dance ended everyone was on their feet and stood for a long time cheering.......Scott looked at Tessa and said "Thank you so much" and they stood there embracing for a long time....they knew they had it.
Two more skate pairs to go and you could see Scott and Tessa in the back nervous as they waited for the scores. After the last pairs scores went up-you could see Scott and Tessa in the back-the crowd started cheering-Scotts face looked disappointed until he realized the crowd was cheering for them-that they had won......
The medal ceremony was beautiful and everyone sang "Oh Canada".....not very many dry eyes in the building...I cannot decribe the emotion of it-it is one of those moments that "you had to be there". Beside Scott and Tessa were the Americans Meryl Davis and Charlie White who are good friends and training partners with Scott and Tessa.
AMAZING does not describe it
